An AirTag is a device that allows users to track the tag anywhere wherever you place it. Whether it be on a bag of yours or an important item, you can track the tag globally. You may be starting to see the bad side of this. People have been using the tags to stalk people by secretly giving them an AirTag.
Apple has added a new popup to the AirTag setup screen, saying “Using (AirTag) to track people without their consent is a crime in many regions around the world”. It also says that the device can be detected by victims. AirTags can now alert devices, saying that an Unknown Accessory has been detected.
There will be more features added according to Apple, such as Precision Finding for unknown AirTags and more noticeable AirTag beeping.
