Hue lights can be controlled using a Hue bridge. Most of the time, you have to be connected to the same network as the hue bridge. If you have realised that you have left a Hue light on and would like to switch it off but is not connected to the same network, here’s how to do it.

How to do it

hue bridge
  1. Open the Hue app on your smartphone
  2. Select Settings at the bottom
  3. Select ‘Out-of-home control’
  4. Select Enable
  5. Log into your hue account
  6. You’re done!

You do have to make sure you have connected to the Hue bridge at least once before in the past. You can setup Out-Of-Home control even in a seperate country. (Note: The Hue Bridge must have power)
