Social media demands constant, high-quality output. Most businesses either post inconsistently or burn out trying to keep up. AI changes the equation entirely — you can plan, create, and schedule an entire week of content in under two hours.

The AI Social Media Workflow

The key is treating AI as your content department, not just an editor. Here’s the workflow that top creators use to consistently produce 20+ posts per week without hiring a team.

Step 1: Generate a Week of Ideas in One Session

Each Monday, open your AI tool and run:

I run [describe your business]. My audience is [audience]. Generate 20 social media post ideas for this week across LinkedIn, Twitter/X, and Instagram. Include: tips, behind-the-scenes, thought leadership, repurposed content from [recent article/video], and engagement posts. Format as a numbered list with platform labels.

Curate the list down to 12–15 ideas. That’s your week.

Step 2: Write Platform-Specific Content

Each platform has different norms. Use AI to adapt one core idea across platforms:

Take this core idea: [idea]. Rewrite it for: 1) LinkedIn (professional, 150 words, 3 hashtags), 2) Twitter/X (punchy, under 280 chars, 2 hashtags), 3) Instagram caption (conversational, 120 words, 5 hashtags, 2 emojis per paragraph).

One idea becomes three posts in 30 seconds.

Step 3: Create Visuals with AI

Great copy needs great visuals. Use:

  • Canva AI — Generate on-brand graphics from text prompts
  • Midjourney — Photorealistic and artistic imagery
  • Adobe Firefly — Brand-safe commercial images

For consistency, create a brand prompt template: “[Brand style] product photography, [color palette], clean background, professional lighting.” Save it and reuse it weekly.

Step 4: Schedule and Analyse

Use Buffer, Later, or Hootsuite to batch-schedule everything in one session. Connect your AI-written posts and AI-generated images, set your optimal posting times, and you’re done for the week.

After 30 days, use each platform’s analytics plus ChatGPT to find patterns: “Here are my 20 posts from last month with their engagement rates. What patterns do you see? What should I do more of?”

Advanced: Repurpose Everything

Every long-form piece of content should spawn 10 social posts. A 1,500-word blog article becomes: 5 LinkedIn quote cards, 3 Twitter threads, 2 Instagram carousels. Use this prompt:

I have this blog post: [paste]. Extract 10 standalone social media posts from it. Each should work without reading the original article. Label each with a suggested platform.
