We often want to download a video that we have seen on the internet from YouTube. Whether or not it is a video that you want to upload to a third-party service, you will have to download the video to upload it anywhere. Here’s how to do it in macOS using VLC.

- Install VLC on your Mac. You can get the link here to download it.
- Open VLC. Select File, and then open Network
- Paste the link address of the YouTube video that you want to download
- Once it starts, click windows, and then media info
- Find the location bar, and copy the URL.
- Open your browser, and then paste the URL.
- Right click the video and click Save Video As
- Select the desired location and then click Save.
The way to do it may change over time with updates.
