How to make your room look better with Hue Sync while using your computer

There are lots of effects in the Hue lighting app. From rainbow lighting to making it so that at a specific time, lights in your room will go crazy in order to wake you up. On a Mac / Windows (TV’s supported with a device bought from Hue’s website) you can install an app specifically made by Philips Hue. Here’s how to do it.

Set Up

1. Open the Hue app on your smartphone (You must have the Hue V2 Square)
2. Tap settings
3. Tap Entertainment Areas
4. Tap Add
5. Add the rooms you would like
6. Add the light’s you would like
7. Tap continue when done
8. Be sure all lights are on
9. Drag the lights to where they actually are
10. Tap test area
11. Once done Tap All Good
12. The entertainment area is now ready

macOS / Windows 10/11

macOS and Windows are mostly the same.

1. Head to the link here to download the app
2. Once downloaded, install it
3. Connect the app to your computer by pressing the button on your Hue V2 Square.
4. Enable the entertainment area and permissions
5. Click either Music, Video, Gaming, or others.
6. Click start lightsync
