WhatsApp has claimed several new upcoming features. The company wrote a blog post about all new options coming to the messaging app. These features include communities and more.

“People can receive updates sent to the entire community and easily organise smaller discussion groups on what matters to them,” the messaging app said. Communities are a collection of groups, and admins of communities get tools to control groups included. They can also broadcast announcement messages to everyone who is in the community. WhatsApp also claims that the chats in the community will be end-to-end encrypted. WhatsApp hasn’t said a specific date for when the update will be released.
However, updates headed to WhatsApp have stuff we’ve been hearing about for the past couple of days which includes being able to react to messages with emojis, and group admins in communities can remove errant messages from all chats. The file-sharing limit is now 2GB. One tap voice call can allow 32 people to talk to each other. There’s no date for when the updates will be released though.
