There are lots of effects in the Hue lighting app. From rainbow lighting to making it so that at a specific time, lights in your room will go crazy in order to wake you up. On a Mac / Windows (TV’s supported with a device bought from Hue’s website) you can install an app specifically made by Philips Hue. Here’s how to do it.
Set Up
- Open the Hue app on your smartphone (You must have the Hue V2 Square)
- Tap settings
- Tap Entertainment Areas
- Tap Add
- Add the rooms you would like
- Add the light’s you would like
- Tap continue when done
- Be sure all lights are on
- Drag the lights to where they actually are
- Tap test area
- Once done Tap All Good
- The entertainment area is now ready
macOS / Windows 10/11
macOS and Windows are mostly the same.
- Head to the link here to download the app
- Once downloaded, install it
- Connect the app to your computer by pressing the button on your Hue V2 Square.
- Enable the entertainment area and permissions
- Click either Music, Video, Gaming, or others.
- Click start lightsync
