Kryptowire, a security firm, is warning Samsung users about the fact that their mobile devices may be vulnerable to a major security flaw that can allow hackers to take control of a device.
The company discovered a vulnerability that allows hackers to take control of a mobile device and do anything, from making phone calls to even resetting the device, they can do anything due to an app that has a flaw. Because the Phone app has all system privileges, this opens an attack vector for hackers to take control of the mobile device.
It seems to impact mobile devices running Android 9 to Android 12. This was first discovered in November 2021, and Samsung released an update in February 2022. Samsung users are recommended to upgrade to protect their phones.
